HazMat Rules & Procedures Seminar

This seminar is designated to reach out to the trade and inform Customs Brokers, Forwarding Agents and Transportation Companies, as a responsible partner, the proper manner to facilitate importation of Hazardous Materials merchandise. It is important that trade stakeholders have practices in place that can avoid potential problems and potential penalties and ensure the trade community is current on proper procedures of handling Hazmat merchandise.

USDOT/FMCSA, CBP and the City of Laredo Environmental Services Department will discuss correct procedures so the Trade Community can establish instructions on the best practices of handling Hazmat freight with their expert direction while ensuring the integrity of the supply chain.

      • Safe transportation of Hazmat freight and being in compliance from the USDOT/FMCSA perspective.

    • 10:15 AM CBP Hazmat Team
      • Information on documentation preparation and advance notification options for importing Hazmat merchandise through the Port of Laredo.
    • 11:30 AM City of Laredo Environmental Services
      • Information on Permit requirements for storage of Hazardous Material at warehouses.
    • 12:45 PM Conclusion

    Awareness of handling Hazmat merchandise and how it applies to international trade stakeholders is a must to provide interested parties support in managing the complexities of international trade while ensuring that the integrity of Hazmat freight is maintained.
